Ariana Grande was the youngest headliner at the last edition of the famous festival Coachella and gave a remarkable performance which made controversy.

Indeed, the 26-year-old-woman ended her historic performance displaying a big rainbow pride flag across the screens and held a small pride flag while singing. Remember that Philip Anschutz, the owner of the festival, has donated to three conservative organizations who are vocal about their pro-gun, anti-abortion and anti-LGBT engagements. And if many artists have called to boycott the festival because of that, Ariana Grande decided to dress Anschutz a subliminal message.

The performance and its ending have been really appreciated by the fans who attended the show and many people celebrated her audacity.

But it’s not the first time the singer stands up for the LGBT community. Her brother Frankie -who is gay- said that he was very proud of her. Ariana headlined Manchester Pride in 2019 for example and speaks often about that subject because it means a lot to her. She also always said that her concerts were « a safe place for everyone to be themselves and feel celebrated and special all over the world ».

Also let’s remind ourselves that the singer abandoned catholicism because of the Vatican’ anti-equality position. She explained “They said SpongeBob SquarePants is gay and he’s a sinner and he should burn in hell. And Harry Potter was a sin. And working women. I was like, ‘Enough! First the gays, then SpongeBob and now Harry Potter? Get out my house!’ I was not having it!” She added more to her explanation a few months later, mentioning her love for her gay brother: “When my brother was told that God didn’t love him, I was like, ‘OK, that’s not cool.’”
